The alley which starts from the
Town Hall Square and leads to the 2nd Junior High School. |
|
Vulgareos Street or "Kardelakoues"
deriving from the phrase "Calle de le aquae=the street of waters, which
leads to the Spianada Square. |
|
The same street in the opposite
direction, leading towards the San Rocco square. |
|
Another point of the same street as
we are walking towards the San Rocco Square. |
|
A parallel street, N. Theotoki
street which leads to the Lower Square, i.e. the cricket pitch. |
|
The same street to the previous one
in the opposite direction leading to the Old Port. The point to the right of
the pigeons (beyond the edge of the photo) is a small square called "Plakada
t' Agiou", meaning the cobbled area near the church of St. Spyridon. |
|
There's the bell tower of the
church of St. Spyridon. The "Plakada t'Agiou" lies on the other side on the
right. |
|
Deeper into the Old Town. A
characteristic alley. |
|
Looking towards the other side of
the same alley. |
|
And a bit further. |
|
This is a bit farther than Mouragia,
about 4-5 metres. Completely rebellious city planning, or no planning at
all. Inside that area it's much more interesting. And when the people cook
you can go crazy with the smells; very mouth watering. |
